JOB DESCRIPTION Southeastern Food Merchandisers is currently looking to fill the position of Merchandise Loader. Interested applicants will be responsible for loading pre-assembled merchandise/pallets for shipment or transporting on delivery vehicles as directed under general supervision. Must be able to safely and constantly load shipments of boxes weighing up to 100 pounds each. Must load trucks according to truck mapping and special instructions. Responsible for loading product in a manner to avoid damages and maintain load stability to ensure the driver's safety. Ensures pallets are properly wrapped and stable. Unloads and cleans out delivery trucks as necessary. Must be able to safely and competently operate forklifts and pallet jacks (manual and electric). Responsible for preparing products for shipment under general supervision by handling and transporting pallets as necessary. Ensures that pallets have pick labels facing out to allow for proper delivery to customers. Ensures that all pallets are strapped safely and properly using the E-tracks in each trailer to secure the load. May be required to hand load product onto trucks as required.
